I am wondering how the roof in our chapel is constructed. There is quite a large weight on the crosswise beam and it is only supported by the beam that is attached to the wall. Now it looks like the wall beam is starting to bend, I also think that the crosswise beam has bent... It feels like if the beam is moved a few centimeters out from the wall, the whole thing will fall to the floor.

Is it really intended for all the weight to rest on the entire rail, is there a good way to support it all in the middle..?

You can use wire or perforated tape to support it.
