Hello,
I have read on forums about different suggestions for mounting lamps on the ceiling. I recently bought a metal expander, essve 4D, which was recommended by a construction company for double gypsum. Excitedly, I drilled an 8mm hole in the ceiling. When I checked the thickness of the gypsum (using a nail), it is around 35mm. I checked the expander's small info and it only supports 19-27mm. That was a setback, incorrect info from the property owner.

I thought the gypsum thickness was standard at 13 mm, so double should be 2x13=26mm. Well, nothing to do about that now, but how can this be resolved? Ideally, I would like to have a smaller diameter for the drill holes (planning to mount an elongated lamp holder with 4 brackets, total weight around 4 kg) but now it's 8mm that I've drilled.

At first, I thought of a regular universal plug but want to be sure it won't fall down. This is the first time I am mounting something in gypsum on the ceiling, so I'm grateful for any responses.

There are also metal expanders for double gypsum..

Yep, that's what I bought. But unfortunately, the "dubbelgipset" was 35mm...

... read the post too poorly...

Take one for triple-plaster?
