Casting your own concrete windowsills?
There are additives to make it more fluid without adding more water if I'm not mistaken. Then you could probably use fine concrete to start with, because it's easy to obtain if nothing else... Additives are mostly available where you buy concrete or at paint stores or similar.
Vibrating can surely be solved in many ways; placing the mold on the washing machine while it spins might be one
But such a thin mold doesn't need to be vibrated for long, you really just want to remove the bubbles from the bottom (future surface). Some time ago, I found myself thinking about what could be used as a rod vibrator for small concrete molds and thought, "A fairly small rod that vibrates, what similar products are there for the private market...? Ahaa!" The next thought wasn't so appropriate, and I also stopped that train of thought... hehe..
But if you have the opportunity to evaluate using such a product, I'm curious about the result..

Kallemannen: One should keep in mind that if there are factory-made products, they exist for a reason, so why not use them? If you mix it yourself and it goes wrong... well, then you're stuck and still have to end up buying better stuff.... = a hole in the wallet.
Borrowing the "relay baton" from the other half isn't right either... neither for familial reasons nor considering sufficient strength of vibration... He may have power in bed, but not within the concrete industry

With such small molds and using fine concrete, it's enough to sway out with the scrub board
In fine concrete like Finja's, there's Peramin F (semi-fluid/water replacement) in it. Then there should be 1-2% air in the concrete, mainly for strength. As for the pigment, it's 1.8% per kg of cement. Too much pigment can consume the cement. The best pigments can be found from resellers for concrete companies, like Grace, SKB, etc. If you want a bit of vibration, an impact driver works perfectly if you don't have access to a vibrating poker.
Regarding vibrator...
I took a regular construction bracket and bent it into an angle. The bracket had a 10 mm hole, allowing the gadget to be mounted on a Fein Multimaster. I screwed a wooden slat onto the angle, which I had lying around. I'm sure the design can be improved.
I'm thinking about double-posting this entry so the team can place it in the tips and tricks thread under Tools and Machines.
I am attaching a sketch of the gadget:

If you place a board OVER the mold and use a hammer drill, yes, one you can chisel with... then there will be vibrations like no other.... Oh, brilliant idea...
Then kallemannen... You write the underside as the finished surface... I would have instead worked with steel smoothing on the top side and after removal from the mold, processed the concrete side with a grinding stone used for drills, alternatively placed a super-thin triangular strip on the top edge.
As for the visibility of staples, yes, there's only one side to put them on... and that will be on the thin long side facing the window...

Incredible how people criticize each other for certain things they believe, tested...
Oh well, use regular concrete and it will be great if you want a rougher surface, for a finer surface use finbetong....
Build a mold from plywood, formplywood is suitable for concrete (99% sure)
Nail or drill the mold together. When it comes to bubbles, pour the cement slowly and carefully and it will be fine...
Don't forget to cover with plastic so it dries and the water doesn't evaporate.
Good information can be found if you search on google/images.
