Casting foundation blocks in two steps.
Hi,
I am going to cast pillars and want them to have the same height. My idea is to cast in two steps since the ground slopes. The difference between the highest and lowest points is about 700mm.
Day 1. Secure all casting pipes and reinforcement bars in a small amount of concrete.
Day 2. Cut all casting pipes so they are all level and fill the casting pipes.
What do those of you who are more experienced than me think?
Grateful for all responses.
Best regards,
Johan

- Is it okay to cast in two steps, or won't the pillars be as strong?
- Do I need to prime between the castings?
- Anything else I need to consider?
Grateful for all responses.
Best regards,
Johan
I will have an attefallshus on the plinths and from what I understand of the plinth arrangement, you shouldn't use any post shoes but instead place the floor joists directly on the plinths. However, I'll check with the supplier before I decide how I will do it.

I did the same thing this spring when I set plinths for an attefall house (from keostugan (which was rubbish by the way)) but then I let the pipes up a couple of centimeters above the finished height and then measured the height of the concrete while I poured.
The small variations that occurred were compensated for with one or two extra layers of underlayment paper under the bearer.
