I am going to cast a foundation to support a beam from underneath. The beam is also nailed to the wood panel. I am planning to make a simple concrete footing and then alternate concrete blocks (leca?) up to the underside of the beam, and the foundation will be about 40x40cm and about 1m high.

But how do you best attach the foundation to the existing base?

If one were to cast a concrete plinth against an existing house foundation, how would one secure the plinth _properly_ to the foundation?

Completely unscientifically, my first thought is to drill in and attach rebar into the house foundation and then attach (weld?) the concrete pier's rebar to the rebar that is in the house foundation.

But I'm not a concrete worker so it might be completely off the wall, but it sounds good, right :D
