Hello
I have built the frame and corner plinths of a bicycle shed but need to add some plinths in the middle of the long and short sides. I will cast with casting tubes and post shoes.
To get the post shoe in the right place, I'm thinking it would be convenient to mount the new posts inside the beams and then adjust the casting tube and post shoe (attached with a screw to the post to hold it in place) before finally filling with concrete.
Is this a bad idea? I'm wondering if the post shoe needs to have some movement when the cement sets or if the plinth needs to be able to "settle" during the setting time, which could be a disadvantage if the post shoe is fixed to a mounted post.
