Hello
When plastering over the facade brick from 1955, perhaps the air gap inside the wall where I've installed the large windows is no longer needed? I have kept the air gap on all other walls of the house, but by the large windows, I removed the black wind barrier that was between the brick and the old wooden studs where there was a gap of 3 cm.
What do you think, is it okay to skip the air gap here on the gable end since it will be plastered from the outside with mortar anyway? In the picture, you can see a bit of the old wall coming down from the roof, then you see a bit of the old black wind barrier and between the black wind barrier and the brick, there are some small thin boards pressing the black wind barrier against the wooden framework, then there's an air gap between the brick and the original wooden framework. Since the outside is to be plastered, I am also sending a picture of the outside.

  • Red brick house with large windows; ladders leaning against walls, visible piles of bricks at the base. Overcast sky and barren trees in background.
