Is it possible to buy sheet metal for such an edge finished in sections, or is a tinsmith needed? Like sheet metal for bargeboards, gutters, etc., that are available ready-made. It is about the edge of a flat garage roof from the 60s model.

Close-up of a green metal edge on a flat garage roof, reminiscent of 1960s style, showing a potential spot for prefabricated sheet metal installation.

For the exact measurements you have, you'll need to contact someone who manufactures according to your specifications.
Isn't it copper? Why do you want to replace them?

Doesn't need to be to the centimeter. I have a good metalworker I bring in for what needs to be exact, but this would only need to be close. Yes, copper, that's why I want to replace it.

Bought sheet metal from the local tinsmith and it was cheaper than a ready-made flashing at Beijer...

Usually cheapest to take a local small tinsmith company and order these sheets according to your wishes from them..

Maybe the thieves are drooling and creating moisture problems over the noble material?😜

Guess 😀. The usual with copper.

It doesn't give very nice stains on other things. Plus, it is toxic; water from the rain barrel is better for killing moss on garden tiles than for watering the strawberries.

Yes, precious metals and polish rarely go hand in hand🥲

Are the old sheets for sale when you've replaced them?

I have a scrap dealer who buys. Have removed some other things. But maybe I could get a better price if I advertise and fix?

The scrap value is probably not so bad, but being able to buy ready-made nicely patinated sheets would probably be worth more than that for me.

It's possible, I've never had precious metals on the house, but maybe a little platinum would look nice. 😀

Copper and no roof overhang is at least less successful. Copper in gutters is OK except that it is toxic. But so far it is not banned.

Copper rules itself out in private villas as fewer and fewer can afford to choose it, but in all culturally historic buildings, it will remain for obvious reasons.
