Hello.
I'm planning to remove an interior wall on the upper floor between two smaller rooms. I've removed built-in wardrobes that were in the wall but don't dare to take the rest before someone more knowledgeable has given their opinion.

It's a 1 1/2-story house, hjältevadshus, folkhemmet from '85.

The interior wall runs right under the collar beam about 1/3 of the house's length. The rest of the upper floor is open.

It seems illogical that the wall would bear any load, but I'm not an expert, so I'd like someone's opinion before I remove the rest. I'm attaching a drawing and a picture of the room with the wall.

  • Blueprint of a Hjältevadshus, 1.5-story house from 1985, showing the attic structure with highlighted inner wall and details of insulation and beams.
  • Partially removed interior wall between two rooms, exposing a green wall and construction materials. Light enters through a window with sheer curtains.
It can be removed, it has no load-bearing function.
A bit hard to see in the picture, but is the one called isolerad stödbensvägg on the drawing still there?
That, however, has a function to fulfill.

Thanks!
The support wall will remain. I will build dressers outside that wall and keep the crawl space as it is.
