Buy pressure treated decking timber from XL-bygg
Hi, planning to build a 100 sqm deck.
According to my neighbor, XL-Bygg is supposed to have really nice decking wood G4-3.
Smaller and fewer knots.
I could actually go to the nearest XL-Bygg lumber yard and take a look, but I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with that decking?
The initial plan was to buy all the wood from Bauhaus or Byggmax, with home delivery. But if I buy the wood from one of them, it feels like I would almost want to inspect it and pick it out myself.
Since I'm not looking for decking with knots as big as snuff boxes, or warped pieces.
If XL's decking is as nice as I've heard, I could buy it from Bygghemma with home delivery. Which usually works well according to me..
Best regards, Östlund..

Edit: the decking I mean is their XLENT TRALL which is apparently sorted in several stages.
"This is absolutely the finest decking we can offer. The timber quality is comparable to, for example, interior solid pine flooring and moldings. Carefully selected through sorting in several stages. Fewer and healthier knots and cut from the best parts of the tree for maximum user-friendliness and functionality. Pressure-treated decking timber in NTR class AB. Thickness 28x120 mm."

XL's idea of not pricing anything at the lumberyard doesn't appeal to me.
When I asked someone working there what the Xelenttrallen costs per meter, I was told that it couldn't be answered.
I replied, "Oh, okay," and headed back to the car.
Nope, I'll be going to Hornbach to buy decking materials there instead

XL are amazing at complicating things. Just in the past year, there have been lots of things that went wrong. Called beforehand and asked "do you have product X in stock" and got "absolutely" as a response, traveled several miles for it, and when I arrived, it wasn't there at all, they don't have standard mixing for regular ready-to-use paints in stock, they were closed when it says online that they should be open, charged my card twice, and recently delivered the wrong items with questionable excuses and explanations. And more...Gabbe1 said:
Done shopping there for me...
They have different meter prices depending on the length.
It's not at all far-fetched that they stock, for example, 3.6 m, 4.5 m, and 5.4 m and have a lower meter price on the 3.6s.
But that doesn't justify any of those irrelevant answers.

Exactly, because if there are different prices depending on the length, it's just a matter of presenting the price list.Mikael_L said:
Regular timber does have short studs that are usually more expensive.
That kind of thing must depend on the local store. At "my" XL-bygg the service is excellent and I can only praise them. Unfortunately, I buy most of my building materials at Beijer just because they are better located geographically, but I can't say much good about them. The staff is knowledgeable, but everything else falls short.MaxPax said:XL is incredible at causing trouble. Just in the past year, there have been loads of things that have gone wrong.
