Hi, I was thinking of throwing out a question to someone who knows. Where can you find aluminum profiles? The kind with slots used for shelving systems and other constructions, I think they are called T-tracks.

There are a few online but they sell 6-meter lengths and mostly to companies? Hopeless... does anyone know where you can buy, for example, 2-meter lengths and not a container full but just a few pieces?

Thanks in advance...

If you need a small amount of material, you can go to a local sheet metal company with a bag of buns and you'll see that it sorts itself out. Often there are leftover pieces and wrong orders that can be taken. If you need larger quantities, go to the same place and ask what it costs.

Thanks for the tips, I also got a PM about a site with lots of profiles and stuff, seems to have reasonable prices motedis.se

Thanks for the help....

Initially built with 3 IKEA LACK tables but it was too unstable and therefore affected my prints. Then considered the IVAR shelving system but hesitated about its durability since I'd have to screw into the frame to secure plexiglass, which would prevent future reuse or adjustments..

I've looked into motedis.se, ratrig.com, kjell.com, and alucon.se for various aluminum profiles with reasonable delivery times. It seems that motedis.se has unbeatable prices on profiles, but the screws are very expensive. The opposite is true on kjell.com... In the end, they all end up around the same price! Have I looked at the wrong screws at motedis?

The plan is to build a booth with plexiglass and place my 3D printer inside. Filament will be rolled on top and above that will be tools for the purpose. That is, 12 pieces of 500mm and 4 pieces of 1000mm.

TL: DR, stable enclosure, 3D printer, expansion possibilities, aluminum or wood?
