Hello,

we built an interior wall (studs, insulation, drywall), but now there's a vertical stripe a few cm into the wall, probably where the stud ends. The same thing on both sides. Also, a slight indentation near the corners.
Help!! What did we do wrong??

  • Interior wall with a vertical line indicating a stud and slight indentation near the corners.
Did you cut off the bevel on the drywall before screwing it in place?

Did you properly plaster the corners beforehand? How does it look if you lay a level along the wall and out towards the corner?
It looks just like the chamfering is not plastered.

Thanks for the quick response! Completely missed the thing with phasing... what is it and how should we have filled before the paint? Only filled the screw holes...

Towards the corners, you can cut off the last piece of the drywall board to get a smooth corner. If the chamfer is left, you need to fill it before painting/wallpapering to make it smooth.

Aha, I didn't know that. Thank you so much, then I'll have to patch there now and paint on.

What does the other side of the board look like? Have you taped and filled that seam (right in the image)?

Yes, it is taped and spackled according to the rules of the art.

The skarv is therefore not visible at all.
