I am expanding the boiler room so I can fit a large accumulator tank. There will be 2 new walls added. Now I wonder how I should fix this? On the side I am expanding, the existing wall will remain standing. Do I need to have drywall on the inside? I was thinking of going with plastic first, then insulation, asphalt board, and finally outer panel in that case. So do I need drywall on the inside? There will be more insulation around the tank.

It is a question for fire protection/chimney sweepers in your municipality how they view the issue. They make different interpretations in different places, making it difficult to say something general.

Since the existing wall remains, it shouldn't be a problem. It's the two new walls I'm wondering about. The small wall might be a bit tricky to get plastic on, though. :)
