Hi.
I'm planning to build an interior wall to divide a larger room. I want the wall to take up as little space as possible while still being stable and reasonably soundproof.
My idea is:
45x70 studs
Sill insulation
11 mm OSB on each side
6 mm renovation plasterboard on each side
Stone wool or glass wool
The question is whether the soundproofing is sufficient and if renovation plasterboard is a good idea.
I've seen some suggest 45x45 studs, 11mm OSB, and 13mm plasterboard... but that seems like it might be a bit flimsy...
What do you say?

At least 45x70 is recommended in construction descriptions from, e.g., Svenskt Trä.

It's not common to only have renovation gypsum in any case.
When it comes to sound insulation, you describe the normal, and then the sound begins to come more through/around the door than through the walls.

If you were to halve the spacing to cc 30 cm, it should be quite stable with 45 * 45, right...? Good fitting and studs of decent quality and well-dried. You shouldn't be able to fall through the wall like in American movies, at least.
not if you stagger the joints, meaning you don't join the OSB on the same stud on both sides and stagger the gypsum joints in relation to the OSB joints use 900mm panels and stud c/c 450mmF Frippego said:
I would have used the 45x70 rule on the slab instead of 45x45. I've built that way before and it becomes relatively stable.
