My garage with a loft will be 5.30m wide and the rafters have dimensions of 45x220 with cc1200.

Will it be a sufficiently stable floor structure if I place floor joists 45x220 between the collar ties so that cc is 600? Is it okay with ungraded wood?

I was thinking of purlins every meter, does that sound sensible?

Yes. That will be fine.

Thanks for the response!

However, I would need a bit more information to feel confident.

Is the construction a borderline case, or do I have a good margin for what is required for a stable floor?

I feel that it might be a bit on the edge, and it might make sense to increase from 45x220 to maybe 70x220 on the floor joists that I place between the rafters?

I forgot to mention that I plan to glue and nail down 22mm floor particleboard, which I believe will further increase the floor's load-bearing capacity.

I'm not an expert, but I talked to a structural engineer today about my own flooring; he said that 45x220 can handle a span of max 4.20 at cc600 in terms of normal deflection tolerance. However, in a garage loft, one might have slightly lower requirements.
