We just bought a house and are in the middle of renovations. We're going to close off a door to our bedroom, and my other half thought it would look nice with a window in that gypsum wall. The door closing itself is no problem, but how do I go about with the window? The window shouldn't be square but have an arch at the top.
You write "fusk-fönster," do you mean it should be a recessed window from one side, but wall on the other side or that it should be a window through the entire interior wall?
Ah!
Gypsum is easy to cut, so I would probably make a template using masonite or something similar and simply cut it out with a utility knife. Use the same template on both sides to make it symmetrical.
Or simply make a hole straight through the wall, attach a stick or screw into it with a string that is the radius of the arch you want to create. Draw the arch, cut out with a knife or saw along the line.
Then you need to consider what you want to use to "seal" the hole. You could attach a strip of masonite that bends nicely along the arch, or simply screw some blocks here and there and resolve the rest with putty.
