Hello Forum
I am very new to construction and have no education.
I would like to extend the deck, remove an overgrown pond and place a hot tub there with an outdoor shower instead, some privacy protection, etc.
What really holds me back is all the lack of knowledge, where do you start? How do you learn to create a stable foundation?
Sure. You can hire a carpenter, but it would be fun to be able to create myself as you see so many others do.
Thanks

Hi,
Start by asking questions and doing research. Byggahus, YouTube, etc. Check how others have done it, consider if it's a suitable method for you.
To really start from scratch, for example, Byggmax has a bunch of detailed guides on how to do things. Maybe not always in the best or most stylish way, but at a good beginner level. They also have videos on YouTube that describe how to do things. Perhaps something to start with and then click further?

Svenskt Trä's descriptions and videos are very good even though some were recorded a long time ago. Then there's "Hur gör snickaren" on Youtube, Fiskarhedenvillan, which goes through different steps in a very good way. There are now several Instagram carpenters who have short and good videos to idly watch when you have a bit of spare surfing time.T Tjrex said:
