What experiences or suggestions do you have for building an extension in an L-shape? The original house is a small cottage (one-story). We need to extend it quite a bit, at least two bedrooms plus a family room. In terms of square meters, I'm not sure how much it involves... So far, we're only in the "dreaming/planning a little" stage, but I'm curious about the different solutions available. I would love to look at pictures and drawings if anyone wants to share
Restoration is always interesting and worth considering, but in this case, most of it is probably already altered, so it won't be our top priority.
Thanks in advance!

On www.jogarsrud.se you can see my extension at an angle. It may be difficult to get a complete picture of the construction... I am super satisfied with the floor plan. Built in one and a half stories. Living room and one bedroom downstairs and three smaller children's rooms upstairs. Had some help from an architect to achieve the floor plan and the aesthetics.

Wow! What a job you have done. Now to read articles and look at pictures :) Thanks!
Would it look strange with an extension that is higher than the original? The little house is just one story, and it requires so much more space to build several rooms *thinking out loud*...
I envision a family room open to the ridge and two bedrooms with an "office"/guest room above. A bit like a loft. But the question is whether it would look weird.

Thanks to you too FarsanSeger, more useful things to read and watch :) I'll get started right away!
