Hello!
I am going to build a new entrance roof and am wondering about the design. I'm thinking of a sloped roof similar to a porch roof, maybe also adding roof tiles, so what thickness of timber should I use to support the weight from tiles and snow in the winter. Thanks for a quick response. Thanks in advance//Emil

Since there is no answer to my question, the construction will be different. I choose to make a porch roof instead. Does anyone know a plan for a porch roof but with posts at the front end that should still be there for the railing, and then choose to have them all the way for extra support against snow sliding off the house roof.

Welcome to the forum.

You need to provide more information for people to give you a relevant answer.

Size?
Roof pitch?

A picture of how the entrance looks now would help.

What you've asked now is somewhat like asking: "How long is my string?"

Sorry for not providing good info, I wasn't thinking that far. The entry stair platform is about 130 out from the door and about 150 wide. I don't know how much slope is needed, but there is space above, and I was thinking at the far end it probably needs to be 10 cm above the door height. I can't provide an image because it doesn't work to upload via the mobile where the image is.

Not sure exactly what type of response you're expecting. Are you hoping someone has a blueprint lying around that will fit your house precisely? Or are you looking for someone who can make a blueprint for you?

If you want a blueprint in general, then http://www.byggbeskrivningar.se/ is a good start.

It was drawing in general. Or if someone has done something similar and could say how they did it.

Feel free to post a picture of how it looks where the roof is supposed to be, it will be easier to possibly suggest something then...
