I live in a condominium apartment and I'm planning to build a wardrobe with sliding doors in a bedroom that's about 4x4 meters. The wardrobe will be approximately 2m x 0.65 and will extend from one corner. Thus, I need to build a wardrobe wall that protrudes from the middle of an existing wall.

The issue I have is that the baseboards are old and the walls are concrete. (The building is from the fifties). Additionally, there is click flooring and trim moldings installed. So I would prefer not to remove the baseboards. Partly because there would be damage to the wall since the baseboards are probably very well attached, and partly because I would have to lift the floor to remove them. Also, I would probably have to redo fairly new wallpaper.

So my question is whether it can still look nice if I leave the baseboards in place? I guess it might not be possible, but it's worth asking.

You might be able to cut out the baseboard with a multi-tool where the side wall of the wardrobe is going to be? Then you can tidy it up with latex caulk before painting.
