Building a sliding gate in wood?

Hello!

I'm wondering if it's possible to build a sliding gate in wood yourself? Has anyone done this?

I've looked around online and checked out pictures of different sliding gates but can't find any in wood.

I have a rough idea of how I want it to look:

Like in the video but lower... and it doesn't need to be motorized.

Is this possible? Or is it best to order a metal gate frame and cover it with wood?
