Building a sliding door - sloped ceiling
Hello,
Storage under sloped ceilings, I'm thinking of building my own sliding doors with MDF next to each skylight.
The dimensions on one side are 160 cm in height and 130 cm in width. I was thinking of using a Hafa sliding door fitting K30, does that work? How long is the track?
If I'm going to use two doors of 65 cm each.
Or does anyone have a better idea?
The other section is 170 cm wide and 160 cm high. I'm afraid the K30 track is too short, does anyone know? Here I also plan to use two doors of the same size, so 85 cm wide. Is that how it's done?
What thickness should I use for the MDF?
I'm planning to paint the MDF white afterwards, how do I do that nicely, which paint?
Then I would like to cover the ceiling track with a box and paint it white, can that be done in a nice way?
Thankful for answers to my questions above.
I can imagine there are some who have fixed sliding doors and have experience.
Best regards,
Tommie

Made sliding doors in the previous house with Elfa tracks and wheels. The tracks can be custom-ordered. The four doors were made of 12 mm chipboard approximately 200x90 cm and became very heavy when they hit the end points. They became wobbly and bent due to a wooden strip that shrank. In other words, chipboard is not a good material choice for sliding doors. MDF is even heavier, but your doors will be smaller. A thin but strong panel material with a reinforcing metal profile frame would be best for the doors, but then you can just go and buy custom-made ones straight away. It is certainly possible to achieve an acceptable result with a DIY project if you are careful. Good luck.
