I have a cool idea to build a downsized half basketball court with a hoop on a pole and a nice surface behind the garage. But my question is, where do I start to find the type of surface typical for outdoor sports? You know that red hard-packed stone?
Otherwise, if there are sensible alternatives like hard surfaces other than concrete. It's too hard to fall on.

Do you mean the kind of stone they have on tennis courts? If that's the case, talk to Lawnit, who builds tennis courts, there is also a type of rubber that comes in different colors.
I think it was the show Bygglov that fixed a playground for a wheelchair user in this rubber material.
