Started a thread this spring about the exterior wall in the bathroom I'm renovating in the basement. There, I found a 5 cm thick layer of Träullit on the inside of the concrete hollow block. That gave me some anxiety since I'm a beginner at plastering. Therefore, it has also taken some time.

Now I just had a brainstorm: do I really have to fuss with plaster and the resistant plaster net on the crumbly surface? Can't I just as well put up a wet room board? For example, Jackon's EPS board with a thin plaster layer. https://www.k-rauta.se/byggvaruhus/våtrumsskiva-jackon-20x600x2500mm

Generally, you don't put boards on the walls in concrete basements, but does it matter if I plaster a surface on the Träullit or screw up boards? Do Jackon's boards work, or should I use wet room gypsum or minerit board instead?

I would probably remove the träullite. I don't know how you planned the sealing layer in the bathroom, but if you are going to use it, you will enclose the organic material while moisture will press in from the ground outside (assuming you are below ground and that this is an exterior wall we see?).

Träullit consists of 70% concrete and is completely moisture resistant. It is said to be very resistant to mold. Otherwise, I plan not to have a waterproof layer on that wall because it is an exterior wall and there is a risk of moisture infiltration.
