We are considering a major extension where the basement is expanded by 70 sqm. I have googled various building systems but still feel confused. :) What material is typically used in basement construction today?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of, for example:

Or is it still feasible to use regular lightweight concrete blocks with something like cellular plastic/Isodrän on the outside below ground?

What would the combined expertise on Byggahus choose?

There are really no right or wrong answers here as long as you meet the requirements regarding insulation ability (U-value) and construction (ground pressure, loads from the structure above, etc). I chose lightweight expanded clay aggregate + isodrän underground and insulating blocks (lightweight expanded clay aggregate with a foam core) above ground, which is a fairly common construction, I would say. The advantage of thermomur is, among other things, that it is quicker to build. I probably would have chosen that solution if I were redoing the basement because the masonry took a long time. How far have you come in the planning? The designer reasonably has some input here.
