Hi,
I'm planning to build a similar workbench for the garage like this one but smaller, with a length of 115cm instead of 180cm.
And a depth of 60cm instead of 70cm.

Is there no need for a support leg in the middle?

It will be made of 45x70 beams and then 12mm plywood on top.

(picture from the internet)

It will likely be used as a table and shelf for storage and not as a workbench in the long run, I would guess.

Thanks in advance

I think it should go well. I've built according to that, kind of. Double 45x70 actually. And with a 4cm thick oak slab on it (the block 500kr!). Haven't noticed any instability. I'll see if I can find a picture.

Wooden workbench with a thick oak top and sturdy frame, set in a garage workshop. Tools are neatly organized on the wall behind.

It will work out great. I'm working on a similar base for a router table which does bear more load than just storage.
On the back, I screw a plywood sheet to the legs to increase rigidity. A diagonal brace there would do the same job.
Consider if you should have wheels underneath. And a small vertical board along the back edge of the sheet prevents small items from falling into the depth there.

Thank you for the answers.

No, no wheels on.
There will be a small rail on the back edge of the tables so nothing falls off the back.
