Hello, I'm planning to build a wall shelf according to the image below. I’m using 16mm MDF, and the dimensions will be 80 in width, 20 in height, and 35 in depth. I need some help with the assembly. I would prefer if the screws holding the shelf together are not visible from the outside.

What is the problem? The box should be painted, right?

Pre-drill, countersink, screw together, putty, and paint.

If you're not going to paint it, then you'll need to plug/dowel.

To plug, a kit like this is useful: http://www.clasohlson.se/Product/Product.aspx?id=158303242
For doweling, more expensive tools are necessary.

I'm going to paint it black. Is it possible to use dowels and glue to avoid screws? I'm also thinking about adding a door; it would be best if it snaps back to the closed position when released. Any tips on hinges? Do these work http://www.clasohlson.se/Product/Product.aspx?id=135918865

If you want it to be bottom-hung, you must have a fitting that keeps the shelf at 90 degrees; otherwise, you'll break the hinges. Can't find a good picture of it right now.

To lock it in the closed position, you can use a regular magnetic lock or something like this: http://www.clasohlson.se/Product/Product.aspx?id=145219691
