I would need to build an inner wall where there previously was one (load-bearing) but is now without and has been replaced with a load-bearing beam (by the previous owner).
I have read in the forum about some suggestions where you start building from below. But I wonder where you would securely attach the upper wooden beam (hammarband?)? Because I think it should not be screwed or hammered directly into the beam? Or am I thinking wrong?
There's no problem, go ahead and build a wall as usual.
If you take studs up to the beam, it looks like you can place plasterboard past the beam so that the wall becomes evenly thick with the existing one.
