I have a small project going on where I will both insulate against an interior wall and put up horizontal wood paneling as the surface.

Some questions:
1) Do you need/should you break away the floor where the new wall will stand?
2) Is it best to use a stud 45x45 or 90x45 for an interior wall like this?
3) Should there be any paper or plastic between the insulation and the wallboard or can the board be placed directly against it?
4) Do you need/should you put vertical battens to mount the horizontal panel boards on, or attach directly to the underlying studs?

Here is my step-by-step, I see it ended up with 7 for both step 7 and 8 but you get it... =)

Hi,

I usually place metal tracks on the existing floor and ceiling, then clamp in wooden studs to hold it all in place, secured with a few screws as well. I use studs with c450 since I like OSB boards with a width measurement of 900 mm. 45x45 studs are sufficient. Insulate with 45 glass wool, no plaster or anything else. Paint if you're going to set a sparse panel so you don't see the wood fiberboard behind.
