I am planning to build a swing set for the kids this summer, it's a bit of a special one as it will be vertical according to building instructions in Polish from the internet. In the materials description, it says the crossbeam should be 3m long and 80x160, which I can't find in Sweden, the widest is 45, the alternative is a laminated beam but then it's much higher and thicker, the closest I've found is 90x225 which feels a bit too much, the question now is if anyone knows whether you can cut a laminated beam lengthwise so I can get 90x160 instead? Without the load-bearing capacity deteriorating so much that it breaks when swinging.

Thanks for the reply. After googling that dimension, I only find foreign pages. Is there a specific name for it or does it have to be custom ordered? It still sounds like a good dimension.

In Sweden, we use inches if it's rough-sawn timber. For example, 75*175.
If you plane the edges, it becomes 70*170. If you can find it, it will probably work as well.
