Hello.

As you can see in the pictures, it's time to refresh the staircase as cheaply as possible... I've done one coat on the stringers.

My thought is to buy some carpet and remove the old carpet to use it as a template. Then glue on the new one.

Or how would you experts have done it?

Best regards

  • Worn wooden staircase with dark treads, in need of renovation. Paint splatters visible on the steps, and adjacent white paneled walls.
  • Wooden staircase being painted; a paint can, brush, and plastic bag are on the steps, ready for a budget-friendly renovation.
I glued carpet of "good" quality. Avoids stair nosing and has a low risk of slipping.

Where did you buy the rug? 😃 and what glue do you recommend?
