Hello,

I am planning to brick up a garage door in the basement.

The dimensions of the opening are 3.5m in width and 2.3m in height.

I will remove the old door myself.

I'm considering hiring a bricklayer to close it up and plaster both the inside and outside.

I am going to meet with a bricklayer to discuss the price, what could this cost?

It may cost 5000kr in materials and 10000kr in labor. But if it does in reality, the easiest way to find out is by getting a couple of quotes.

Material: 70 lecasten, mortar, plaster, plaster mesh, amering in some courses, and a bucket of base paint. Yes, 5000 kr might work. I think it might be a bit low.

It will probably take 2-3 days to get it completely finished. I'm not sure about the price for a craftsman (if you use ROT). But expect about five hundred/hour.

Gabbe1 - your calculation seems ok - possibly a bit stingy.

I say: 7500 material, 12500 in labor.

If we say that I tear down the gate and paint.

Material:
Leca, masonry/plastering mortar, reinforcement and plastering mesh: 5000kr

Labor:

20h x 450kr = 9000kr of which 4500kr in rot.

Total: 9500kr

If we say it should be around 10,000kr (after rot) then I'm quite right, right?

It sounds reasonable, quite reasonable really, however, craftsmen are not always reasonable when it comes to slightly smaller jobs so don't be surprised if the quotes land at 25K after ROT.
