Brick feature wall for heat distribution from chimney
Sitting and planning for my two fireplaces I want to build in conjunction with the completion of the chimney. In the basement, I have an idea that I think could work well both practically and aesthetically, but I want to bounce it off someone with a bit more knowledge in the area.
I'm thinking, instead of installing a regular freestanding stove, I want to build a fake chimney stack, or stone storage if you will, and in this install an insert stove to create a heat storage that retains heat for a long time. It's a concrete floor, concrete ceiling, and concrete wall, so fire hazard isn’t a major problem from that perspective. However, one wall is a non-load-bearing wooden internal wall and is adjacent to the only bedroom on the basement level, and instead of building with distance to the wooden wall, one could easily tear down the wall and erect an inner wall with the same brick used to build the stone storage. Then, brick the stone storage right against that wall.
I think this would be both attractive and functional in spreading heat even next to the bedroom. The only requirement is not to furnish against the wall, but that’s not a problem in that room.
Any obstacles you see with this, or anything else to consider?
Where can you get brick at a reasonable price? It doesn't seem easy; I’ve looked a bit on Blocket, but it seems to go quickly, and at the builder's merchants, it feels like prices skyrocket when you need a few hundred (haven’t calculated it exactly).
Grateful for help on the subject!

That was a good tip; I'll keep an eye out when I pass by and they are open. Although sometimes they can be a bit tricky about letting go of stuff that's already been thrown away, but maybe they're trickier with home electronics and the like.
Stone and concrete slabs are usually less difficult to acquire, but bricks seem to be in demand?
