Anyone know how to build a brick chimney? Many might think it's expensive, but I've received a lot of free solid bricks. I'm planning to build up a chimney and incorporate an insert into it. I'm just wondering how to do it over the insert. Where should one place cleaning hatches, etc.? If anyone has a drawing or link or can explain in words how to do it, I would be very grateful.

Buy the book "Öppna spisar" ISBN: 91-47-01268-4. Liber has produced the book and it is part of their school textbooks for the construction profession.

Don't forget that you should have hollow bricks in the shifts that are above the roof and a little bit down.
It should be clear from the cassette's installation instructions how the cleaning doors should be positioned.
I had a mason build my fireplace, but it has a quite large and long chimney.

Thanks for the tips! I will immediately buy the book that you recommend Fasting!

What did the bricklayer charge for the work foreman 1? I mean just the work and how big a chimney did he build for you?

He took 25000:- and I also provided a helper.
The chimney is probably closer to 7.5-8 meters high and built with one flue.
The stove is quite large though. I think it took about 7 sj pallets with stone.
