I'm considering buying a brad nailer for the compressor to make it easier to attach studs, etc., indoors. I'm also planning to replace some boards on the deck railing that have started to deteriorate, and I'm wondering if brad nails are too weak for that task. I plan to use sturdy nails where the main studs are, but for attaching the "fence," maybe the same thickness isn't necessary.

The railing is designed with removable sections between the studs, which can be simply removed and nailed back after the boards are replaced. I don't have the width measurements of the timber, but since brads are available up to 50mm, it shouldn't be a problem. However, it's the thickness I'm uncertain about.

Hope you understand my poor carpentry Swedish ;)
