Hello!
I want to mount a ballet barre on the wall in the living room and have had trouble finding brackets. Most of the handrail brackets I've found are too short. I want the barre to be about 20-25 cm out from the wall. Do you know where I can find such brackets?

I thought this one looked interesting, but I have no idea what it would be called in Swedish. I haven't seen them when I've been shopping either.

(The barre itself is a 43mm round dowel in pine that is 150cm long)

I came up with my own solution in the end that works! :)

and?
Bring it out now :)

Okay, but please don't make fun of me if it's silly... ha ha! :p

I used sturdy reinforced brackets (like for wall shelves) so that the rod is far enough from the wall. Then I drilled through the rod and screwed it onto the brackets.

It is sturdy enough to hold if I lean against or hold onto it, but eventually, I'll find a better/nicer solution. I don't really need much support, and it's just for me to use (not several people at once). I've seen special brackets (angle iron, bracket?) in other countries, but they would probably be expensive with shipping.

Not at all dumb. Rather smart

If you are not satisfied.
I recommend going to "Grönmarks järn" (Tools nowadays) which is located down by vanadisronellen. They have EVERYTHING, or at least know where to find what you're looking for if you talk to the right person (ask for Roffe).
Otherwise, you can always talk to a smed. It shouldn't cost too much money.

Thank you!
