Wanted to check with someone knowledgeable...

I have a roof that is about 15 m with completely new rafters (45-degree pitch, gable roof).

We are considering putting a large dormer in the middle, which results in needing to shift 3 rafters. The dormer's width will be 3.40 m with a gable roof.

The question is, can you quickly and easily shift 3 rafters without affecting the actual roof structure? And how would you do it in the best way??

No! It requires a lot of work reinforcements both for the bearing of the new dome's trusses and for the stiffness of those that will be cut. Additionally, building permits and construction drawings are required, and it must be done with graded timber.

Glue-laminated beam on the upper side of the tie beam. But you must be able to carry the pressure from the glue-laminated beam all the way down to the slab. Get a structural engineer to calculate that. It's not so easy when you're going to cut three rafters.
