Board with horizontal Z-panel?

I am going to build a fence between the house and the detached garage. It will be about 5m long and 2.1m high. I was thinking of using vertical planks myself, but my wife thinks it should be in the same style as the house and garage, i.e., horizontal Z-paneling.
Has anyone done something similar and has experience? Good, bad, complicated...
One disadvantage is that I will need to put paneling on both sides of the fence to make it look nice.

One drawback is that I will need to put paneling on both sides of the fence to make it look nice.

It will be very sensitive to appearance if you install horizontal paneling; the slightest warp or if the posts aren't aligned will be visible.
You could use thicker posts and have the paneling only in between the posts to create a less sensitive fence, purely from a visual perspective, I think!
