I was planning to make a plank wall and want to have a small gap between the planks, a small space between each plank. I've heard that planks always move and now wonder how much space one should leave between them? If it makes any difference :)

If you buy new timber, you will automatically get gaps after a short while when the timber dries.

And if we say that I initially leave a 5mm gap, I assume it will become larger when the wood dries? :)

Yes, but there is no construction technical reason to leave any space between the boards, it will resolve itself anyway.

Is it indoors or outdoors?

Indoors.

Fine, that's what I assumed.
