Going to take down some walls and saw that they were built with blocks like in the picture.
I guess these are typical blåbetong blocks? Didn't think they came in such small sizes...

Seems to be the only interior walls in the house of this type, fortunately.
Short-term radon measurement was done during November when the house was unoccupied and basically not ventilated at all (all vent lids were closed) and the values were completely OK.

Anything to keep in mind when tearing down blåbetong besides the usual with protective mask (PP3)?
Do recycling centers accept blåbetong?

  • Concrete blocks resembling blue concrete, stacked and forming an interior wall with a textured surface pattern.
Yes, it looks like it might be blåbetong/ytong. It's not always the case that there's radon in it just because it's bluish-gray. The recycling centers I've been to accept them, but they want them to be separated from other stones. Use normal protection during demolition, the blocks themselves don't create much dust.

It was a different experience to demolish lightweight concrete walls.
Chipped away a few at the top and took care of the rest with a sledgehammer, went quickly.
They weren't particularly strong but didn't create much dust.
