"blackboard" color on the wall.

Hi! We're in the process of remodeling the kitchen at home.
Now we're going to paint a section of a wall with that black paint you can write on with chalk.
I just want to know what kind of surface we should have. Currently, it's an old wallpaper. But surely we shouldn't paint directly on the wallpaper? It should probably be something like masonite or similar?

Those of you who know, please tell me how I should proceed.

The easiest way is to buy a cheap painting that you can paint over the motif, so you can hang it wherever you want later.. It's hard to regret when you've painted on the wall.
