Hi,
I'm working on a deck and I'm wondering what the best way is to anchor it to the house wall when the deck is higher than the house's edge? Or is no anchoring needed? It is 1.7 m to the nearest bearer which has the dimensions 170x45mm.
The picture should show that the deck reaches about 1.2 m from the bottom of the house.

  • Wooden deck frame under construction, shows posts and beams extending from a wooden house. Deck is elevated, surrounded by greenery and a small shed in the background.
Looks like you already have posts close to the wall, can't they be used for an additional load-bearing beam?

Thinking the same as above. Arrange a bärlina against the posts closest to the facade.

Agree, do not anchor yourself in the house. And keep in mind that maintenance of the facade will be impossible, consider, for example, metal covering against the facade.

It might not be necessary to add another carrier beam - there are already three. Could it work to connect the posts with a 170x45 and attach the joist hangers directly to the board 1.2m up?

Of course, it also becomes a bärlina. However, I would have preferred a bärlina under bjälklag, to avoid brackets.
