Hi, what do you think about this balkan? It seems to be "pushed out." The idea is that it should sit completely on top of the wall, right?

How do I put it back? Can I tap it in with a rubber mallet, or do I need to lift the roof up a few mm first?

  • Wood beam protruding from a wall under a ceiling with visible cables and pipes nearby.
  • Wooden beam slightly protruding from a white plastered wall with plastic sheeting; ceiling cables attached above the beam with metal fasteners.
Jack up the floor with a bunch of jacks a few millimeters at a time and push the beam back.
I like the clamping.

Ok then I'll do that. Thank you, Thomas. (y)

What type of jack should be used? The ceiling height is 2 meters.

Aren't there nails in the "beam" up in the ceiling? It looks like it in the pictures.. if so, then you can't knock it sideways..

Looks a bit strange...

Looks like something else has been sitting further out too?

A beam doesn't creep out that much by itself.

Or it has been placed there afterwards to relieve another syll long into the gap and which may be rotten.
