Hello

I need to extend the drywall panel (250x90x13) due to a ceiling height of 265. I plan to place the horizontal joint at a comfortable spackling height. Is blocking needed behind the joint with a stud spacing of cc 45? Do you need to add blocking at the floor and ceiling?

I appreciate your thoughts.

the easiest way is probably to buy boards that are 270 so you only have to cut 5cm instead + you avoid the joint.....that's what I would have done...

Exactly, the best is to buy sufficiently long gypsum.

Otherwise, yes, you need to add support at the joint, and you need to have a stud behind at the ends of the board.

Thanks for the tip. I first checked the Byggmax website and they only had 120x270. My local hardware store also didn't mention 90x270. Since neither my wife nor I are athletes, we planned for 90x250. After your tips, I checked K-rauta's website and they had 90x270 sheets. Now I have ordered 270 sheets from the local dealer.
