Hello
I have just bought a summer house and completed drainage/insulation with isodrän around the basement.
When I then wanted to update the moldings in the already wainscoted basement, I saw that the entire room is covered with plastic behind the panel and even above the panel.. Which I have come to believe is not quite as it should be.
Now the question is, do I have to take down the walls and remove the plastic, or can I solve it in some other good way?
Grateful for tips!

Best regards, Johan

The diffusion-tight plastic should be placed on the warm part of the wall construction. Its purpose is to prevent moist air from condensing inside the wall construction. My opinion is that it should remain in place.

In a basement???

if more than half of the basement is underground, you should not have plastic, this is so the wall can breathe. then you should have a diffusion-open wind barrier. otherwise, it's ok as the wall can air out into the open. I would tear it up unless it is, for example, a sutteränghus.
