Hi
I'm a bit curious about how you would solve the following
I need to install a skirting board in a hall, but where the plank floor transitions to tiles, there's a level difference of about 15mm. Like a mini-step.
The skirting board I plan to install is 145mm high.
My own thoughts
1a. Notch out 15mm in the skirting board, so that it's lower on the tiled section. The problem with this is that this board would then continue to be 15mm longer for quite a bit, around two corners and all the way to the front door. About 100cm+200cm+30cm
1b. Notch out 15mm in the skirting board on the tile side, but cut it in a wedge shape so that it's back to 145mm at the first corner, about 100cm later.
2. Cut a long wedge that is 15mm at the wide end and place the skirting board on top of the wedge on the plank floor side. Then glue and fill. The skirting board will then appear to be 145+15 high at one end and 145mm at the other. This piece is about 150cm long, so the wedge will be 150cm long.
3. Install the skirting board and allow it to have a 15mm step on the board as well.
This can't be a completely unique problem. Does anyone have a solution?

I would probably choose to raise the list where there is no klinker 15mm the entire way, therefore not a tapering wedge. As long as it ends reasonably, not around a corner etc.
