I am going to build a balcony 2.2m above the ground and 8 meters long and 3m wide. I drove past a house that did what I want to do and I wonder how they managed to anchor the posts with the overlying decking. I thought it looked nice but it looks like two beams meet each other and are just resting on top of the post?

Architectural drawing of a two-story house, labeled "Fasad mot nordväst," showing northwest facade with windows, a door, and sloped roof. White house with glass balcony and two pillars, covered in snow. A white car is parked to the right. Overcast sky above. Two-story white house with a glass balcony and visible pillars. Snow covers the ground and part of a white car is visible in the foreground.
