Now I don't know if this ended up in the right place again... difficult when you don't know what measures you can take. :-[
Our problem is that we want to swap rooms with the children, but our room has poor air quality. We've had a moisture inspection, but there were no such issues. However, it feels like the air is stagnant and very thick, especially after a night's sleep. We have a ventilation "pipe" in the room. Even if you open up the windows (which aren't very big) it doesn't help, because you can't create a draft, nothing much happens at all.
Is there any way to address this that doesn't require hiring a professional? Some fan that we can buy or any other method?
Grateful for any help to an ignorant one.

A good start might be to find out how the air moves in the house (if it does :-? )
You can get a pretty good sense of the air currents with the help of smoke, like this: http://www.ventilation.nu/xcart/product.php?productid=4625&cat=0&page=1
Open different combinations of doors, crack a window......... how does the air stream change.
Quite fun to tinker with
but then it's a matter of drawing a conclusion and performing an action that should be good :
but without knowledge of air movement, you're fumbling in the dark
