Avoid drilling into the foundation when building a wooden entry staircase
I was thinking of building a wooden staircase at the entrance. It should look almost exactly like in the film. However, there is a problem. In the video, they attach the plank under the door directly into the foundation. I don't want to drill into the foundation. Is there another way to make the staircase stand firmly without having to drill into the house foundation?
Yes, they do. If we assume that one will always walk to the left or come from the left, there will be many small nudges to the stairs that move it a fraction of a millimeter from time to time. Especially when it's freezing.Centano said:

I have my stairs on piers, both at the front and against the house. If you use blocks like in the film, you could use angle brackets to fix them to the blocks.
