Hi

I have dug down pillars at cc 2.5m and plan to install 95*95 posts and then integrate a top plate 220*45mm, I thought.
Is it okay to place the rafters at cc 1.2m? So in between the posts?

How do you do otherwise?

Grateful for help.

How big is the roof?
Roof angle?
Roof covering?

span 4 meters and 12.5 meters long
about 20 degrees

There are two ways to solve this, either an extra truss at 600 mm so that you align with the posts.
But, why choose 95x95 at cc 1200 mm, isn't it a much better solution to use 95x45 at cc 600 so you have the trusses over a post. It will also be significantly easier if you plan to have paneling inside directly on the standing studs.

It sounds like a carport or storage, then positioning the truss in the middle is sufficient, but there might be some deflection under full load.
If it's a residential building and a window is to be installed in between, I would have replaced the support beam with a laminated wooden beam instead to minimize the deflection.

In my opinion, just go ahead, your biggest problem will probably be chopping up 100 m3 of wood.

hehe...it will actually be only 80m3 4*10 also about 2 meters high, that small piece 2x2 meters is not supposed to be firewood.
But it will probably be tough anyway =)
